The Cardow Rum Room is an immersive tasting and storytelling journey inside the historic Cardow Building—a former 18th-century trade warehouse on Charlotte Amalie’s waterfront. Guests explore the Caribbean’s rich rum history through curated tastings of locally crafted and regional rums, learning the difference between sugarcane and molasses rums while surrounded by coral-stone walls and the scent of aging barrels.

Reservations are recommended, especially on cruise days or weekends, as seating is limited. Walk-ins are welcome when space allows.

Yes! The Rum Room hosts wedding parties, team-building sessions, and special celebrations. We also collaborate with the Cardow Collective for private jewelry and rum experiences in the same historic space.

The Virgin Islands has a centuries-long tradition of rum-making rooted in sugarcane production and maritime trade. You’ll taste the difference betweenmolasses-based rums, known for depth and spice, and cane juice rums (rhum agricole) with grassy, floral notes—each revealing a different chapter of island history.

Guests must be 18+ for tastings and mixology sessions, but the building is open to all. Families can enjoy exploring the historic exhibits and nearby Main Street shops.

We’re a 5-minute drive from Havensight Pier and 10 minutes from Crown Bay Marina. Most major hotels and taxi services (including Emerald Beach Resort) can arrange direct transport. Look for the coral-stone building marked “Cardow – Since 1954”.
